How to See All Your Debt

How to See All Your Debt

Date: Oct 23, 2026

To see all your debt in one place, pull your credit reports and add in any debts that may be missing into a single list.

Start With Your Credit Report

View your credit report at Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion. They list balances, credit limits, and payment history. Credit monitoring tools may also display balances together.

Add What Reports Miss

Add money owed for medical bills, tax balances, and loans not reported. Unpaid utilities show up mostly after being sent to collections.

Use a simple spreadsheet or notebook with lender, balance, rate, and payment to track the total. For example, $4,100 in cards and $11,000 in student loans plus a $200 medical bill totals $15,300.

Keep your list in a place you can check and update it easily. Note the date you last checked and review your list monthly.

Having your debts recorded in a single location lets you see which debts cost the most in interest and which have the biggest payments, which can help you decide where to start.

If a balance seems wrong, compare it with the lender’s latest statement before taking action.
